Our Philosophy

The philosophy of PBELC is to ensure the wellbeing and safety of every child in care.

Through our program, we provide a warm, loving environment where the children

develop and emerge as individuals.

Our program models the play and exploration curriculum, which offers forms of play and

group activities that encourage individuality, creativity, and self-acceptance. We also

stress cooperation and personal achievement rather than competition.

Children's independence is encouraged in our program. Through our program children will learn to make choices, develop decision-making skills, therefore, developing a sense of achievement. Children are praised and encouraged for their positive individual accomplishments.

In our program communication skills will be achieved through activities and positive interaction with other children as well be encouraged to participate effectively in groups in a cooperative atmosphere.

In our centre and program, we encourage equality. We are committed to the principles of equality and social justice. The acceptance of all people is encouraged and taught in our multicultural program.
